How is the government setup?

There are 3 levels of government in Australia

Local- The local government is divided into regions both in city and country areas
Parliament House
Parliament House
State- The state government leader is the premier
Federal- The federal leader leader is the prime minister

  • Australia is part of the commonwealth
  • The head of the commonwealth in Australia is the Queen of England
  • Her representative in Australia is the govenor general

Federal Level
1. Senate- upper parliament
2. House Of Representative- lower parliament

State Level
1. House of Assembly- lower house
2. The legeslative council- upper house

Local Level
Councellors represent the people in regions to help with local issues

  • There is an election every 4 years this year there is 1 everyone 18 and over must vote
